Our families, our partners
At Giant Steps, we value the families we serve and seek to elevate their voices.
Parents of children with autism have pivotal roles at Giant Steps in both day-to-day programming and at the governance level. Families are partners in their children’s programming, participating in all aspect of their child’s individualized program/therapy plan from planning to implementation, evaluation and generalization to other settings.
Our team provides easy access for parents seeking advice or information from staff and leadership and prioritizes an open door policy. Parents have opportunities to participate in community-building activities and to volunteer at events and fundraising activities.
Current or past parents of children in the Giant Steps program are valued members of our Board of Directors and play key roles in both strategic direction and operations.
